WIFE'S TRAGIC DISCOVERY IN BATHROOM

BYRON BAY: Sunday - Nicholas Murray, 54, was found dead by his wife with his throat cut, in the bathroom of their home at Massenger Street, Byron Bay, when she returned from church this morning. Finding the door to the bathroom locked, Mrs Murray sought assistance from her neighbours who helped her force the door open. Murray's throat had been cut with a razor found near him. Police officers who viewed the bodysaid it appeared Murray had locked himself in the room and cut his throat immediately after his wife left the house to go to church. There was no suggestion of foul play.
Although in ill-health recently Murray had appeared quiet well and his wife and family could suggest no reason why he should take his life.
