Obitutary: Mr Thomas Nunan.
Death has removed another of Tenterfield's old residents, in the person of Mr Thomas Nunan, who passed away at his residence at Sunnyside on Wednesday morning at the age of 70 years. Deceased had been ailing for the past few weeks. Mr. Nunan was born at St, Lawrence, County Limerick, Ireland, in 1841, and came out to Australia in the sailing ship Monsoon in August 1854. Soon after his arrival he went to Maryland where he remained for about 17 years. His next move was to Sunnyside, where he purchased a farm and resided there for the past forty years. He was well known ans universally liked by all who came in contact with him. He is survived by one brother, Mr Frank Nunan, and three sisters, Mrs M. Brosnan (Riverside, Warwick), Mrs P. McGaurenan (Nana Glen, Grafton) and Mrs Murray (Tweed River). The funeral took place on Thursday afternoon, the remains being laid to rest in the R.C. portion of the local cemetery, the Rev. Father Clancy, officiating at the graveside. The coffin, which was polished cedar with silver mountings, was literally covered with floral tributes.
