Notes for Nathaniel Graves
Nathaniel Graves (49) was baptized 14 Sept. 1806 in Thurcaston, Leicestershire. He married Ann Beech on 17 Jan. 1825 in Thurcaston[7]. Although R-3 said the first child was born at Anstey, Leics., and the second at Kegworth, Leics., it is possible they were both born in Thurcaston. Both William Griffin and John Graves were baptized at Thurcaston. The 1851 census of Thurcaston, Leicestershire, listed Nathaniel, 44, grazier of 29 acres, John, son, 14, apprentice cordwainer, and William Griffin, son-in-law, 18, apprentice cordwainer, all born in Thurcaston. (R-1, R-3)

*** Note that the marriage certificate of John Graves and Louisa Bamford (1871, but sometimes reported as 1872 - the digit 1 on the certificate itself is typed) gives father's (i.e. Nathaniel's) occupation as shoemaker. ***

Possibly died 1870 in Blaby, Leicestershire. [SP]
