Notes for John Tyrer

In the 1841 census, he is (presumably) married to Ellen, and has three children at home, Elizabeth (4), Richard (2) and Alice (4 mo.).

In the 1851, he is married to Jane, and has seven children at home, Elizabeth (14), Richard (12), Alice (10), William (7), James (4), Martha (2) and Gilbert (8 mo).

It's likely that Gilbert is Jane's son, and the eldest three children are by Elizabeth.

Gilbert's birth certificate gives his mother's maiden name as Jane Thompson. John and Jane's marriage was registered in Sep quarter, 1844.

So it's not yet clear whether William was the son of Ellen or Jane.
