There was a crop of children of James Heesom and Maria (Rowe) who were baptised at Halton St Mary's between 1858 and 1880. That family can be traced in census records from 1861 onwards. That James Heesom was born in Moore, abt 1825, and married Mary Rowe in Liverpool in 1856. Their marriage certificate gives his occupation as flatman, and his father as William Heesom, also a flatman.

I am now forced to favour the view that there were two James Heesoms of similar ages in the same area, one the son of Thomas, and one the son of William.

The 25 year old James Heesom of Moore working on John Acton's farm in the 1851 census could be either of these.
