Notes for Betty Brennand
In the 1851 census, we find John Brennand staying with Stephen and Betty Lawson. His occupation is given as horsebreaker, and his relationship to the head of the household (Stephen) is given as brother-in-law. This was our first clue as to Betty's maiden name. It explains the middle name of her great-grandaughter, Annie Brennand Russell.
