Notes for Mary Murray
Sisters Hessom were not certain about maiden name (Murray or Murry) nor first name (probably Mary but possibly Martha).

When Mary married Thomas Britten on 27 May, 1905, she must have already been pregnant with Catherine, whose birth was registered in September quarter, 1905.

She was reported to have died of "pernicious anaemia", but it might have been bowel cancer, very common in her family. All her children died of it.

We think she married three times.

She had a daughter called Elizabeth (Betty) by her second husband. Betty married someone called Chapman, Mandy thinks. Died about 2002 (while Brenda moved to Spain). Betty might be Brenda's godmother.

The "family" called Mary's third husband "Nunkie" (at least, that's what it sounds like). He was a big man. They were all scared of him. He was very shy. He looked like Lurch. Mary and Nunkie had no children together.
